One day my name will shine in gold letters at the Champs Elysees.

That was the late and great Yves Saint Laurent from a time long before he knew just how he would change the world of fashion. And the world of women. It is said that Chanel gave women their freedom, and Laurent their power, and it is made evident in the exhilarating exhibit, Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective, at Paris's Petit Palais from March 11 to August 29. The exhibit is filled with over 300 of Laurent's haute couture designs, including all of his Le Smoking and evening dresses. It was amazing to see how he was so inspired by other artists and cultures, and how many of his lines were truly tributes. I can't believe we happened to be in Paris during this amazing exhibit! Some of my favorite moments where the video where you saw Laurent sketching, the room on Catherine Deneuve, a cocktail dress commissioned by Princess Grace of Monaco, and the color charts, made and filed in his design house, that were on display.
