Anne Frank Huis

"One single Anne Frank moves us more than the countless others who suffered just as she did but whose faces have remained in the shadows. Perhaps it is better that way; if we were capable of taking in all the suffering of all those people, we would not be able to live" Primo Levi

Hundreds of people line up to see this house but we got there early and only waited about 30 minutes. Once inside, everyone is quiet and spends times touring the house. listening to video clips and reading the diary. Since 1947, Anne Frank's diary has been translated into over 65 languages. Stairs are extremely steep and the majority of all rooms throughout the house are very crammed. It is hard to imagine 8 people hiding in one tiny bedroom.

Unfortunately, the majority for Anne Frank's house banned photography. We saw Anne, Otto, Edith and Margot Frank's rooms. Each hiding spot was shown and the house was kept dark just like it had been when the Frank's lived there.
